You may intend to do every bit of housework in less than an hour but how realistic is this approach? You could well find that it takes longer than an hour to clean your home. Make sure you are realistic in your approach. Give yourself at least one hour to clean your house from top to bottom. You may have to give yourself a whole day if you’re giving each room a really thorough clean.

If you simply don’t have enough time or energy to get your housework done in one go don’t worry. Why not do just 15 minutes of housework each day? It’s amazing what you can achieve in just 15 minutes, for example:

  • Load the dishwasher
  • Clean the sink

Giving yourself 15 minutes each day will stop the housework from building up. It can also make you feel happier about getting things done.

If 15 minutes isn’t enough time give yourself 20 or 25 minutes instead. A little bit of work every day will ensure that you’re not left with a long list of jobs to do every week.

Get Someone to Help you

If you can, why not get someone to help you do the housework? Delegate a few jobs from time to time. Ask someone to empty the dishwasher now and again. Ask another person to take out the trash or to sweep the floors. When you delegate some of the housework you make it easier on yourself.
