When you live in a civilized society there are laws made that you agree with like murder, rape, theft and some you may not agree with certain drug laws, speeding laws, smoking laws, but it does not mean you can pick and choose which laws are worth following and which ones aren’t.

When the highest court in the land comes down with a ruling, like it or not, it becomes the law of the land and it must be obeyed. If not, we would have anarchy. Cats and dogs would be living together, mass hysteria—sorry I was channeling my inner Bill Murray from Ghostbusters.

So when Kim Davis, a Kentucky county clerk decided to disregard said law because she says it is against her religious beliefs, I almost hit the roof. While I realize that same sex marriage may be frowned upon in most religions, who the hell does she think she is to pass judgment and decide what a “higher being” would approve of?

Let’s start with the obvious. One of the founding principles of this country is the separation of Church and State. The fact that she works in a governmental capacity should immediately preclude her from denying same sex couples marriage licenses based on her religious beliefs.

Let’s go beyond that, the Supreme Court has ruled that same sex marriage is legal, and therefore again, she has no right to deny anyone.

She says that to her it is much deeper than the law of the land, and she answers to God’s law not that of the Supreme Court. That for her it is a question of Heaven and Hell.

Really? Lady do the world a favor and shut up.

You sicken me by imposing your will and your beliefs on others. How dare you be the one to decide what is right and what is wrong. How dare you assume to be a supreme authority on this.

You want to know who you are? You are a sad little woman who lives her pathetic little life in complete and utter anonymity and think that this is a way for the world to see who you are. You are making a stand for what is right.

Want to know what is right? You losing your job for being a moron. That is what’s right.

What turns out to be the best part of this story is what a hypocrite this woman—for lack of a better term—turns out to be. Apparently, not only has she been married 4 times (not that I take umbrage with that), but she had a set of twins five months after divorcing her first husband with what turned out to be her third husband. Last I checked, and I am no religious scholar, one of the 10 Commandments was Thou shalt not commit adultery. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Based on that knowledge alone, Ms. Davis has no leg to stand on. All of her supporters keep shouting “Praise the Lord”, like that’s some kind of defense for her idiocy. This is a simple case where just following the law will allow this to be settled swiftly.

The fact that any credence has been given to this woman and her beliefs is a joke. I am not saying she can’t believe what she wants. If she wants to think that a head of lettuce named Ralph is the Supreme Being, I am all for it. But Ralph has no business deciding who can or can’t get married.
