A talented individual with an irresistible personality, Yvonne is a force to be reckoned with.In addition to her love of painting, She is an accomplished singer and songwriter. She founded the Chicago-based indie rock band, ‘The Locals.’ Her life is intertwined with music and art, which complement each other. Her artistic endeavors do not end there; she is also an accomplished photographer. Her pilot project – Sleepy Urbanite, where she photographed passengers dozing off on trains, landed her an appearance on The Today Show.
She has worked in design, UX, and technology for 25 years. Yvonne has extensive experience managing design teams. She is proud of her career as a tech woman, motivating other women to make their name in a male-dominated industry and showing them that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Yvonne has successfully worked for major brands such as Bosch, the Chicago Public Library, Cirque Du Soleil, Bud Light, Justin Timberlake, Metromix, and USA Today. Currently, she serves as the Design Director for Jetpack (WordPress/Automattic).
Despite the obstacles she has had to overcome over the years, Yvonne’s passion for music drove her 6-year solo career, and then 25 more years with her band, The Locals. The band has toured in the United States and the United Kingdom, performing at renowned events and venues in Chicago and at various music festivals.
Her most recent album, ‘Minutes, Seconds, Degrees’ was born after facing a devastating Meniere’s disease diagnosis, the death of her best friend of 26 years, and the end of a twenty-two-year marriage – all in three consecutive years. She was determined and motivated, which also helped her pull through the difficult phase of loss and grief.
Yvonne Doll refers to her art as “lyrical abstraction” due to the connection between music and art. She has garnered a lot of admiration for her paintings and art projects like A pretty Egg and Snowmen Village. With a unique blend of creativity, Yvonne is ready to unleash more of her potential as an artist in front of the world.
