At long last, we have a location for next year’s NFL Draft. First reported on Thursday, Chicago is set to host the 2015 NFL Draft.
Rookies from all over will blow into the Windy City for the three day event that kicks off on April 30th.
The last time Chicago hosted the draft was back in 1964. The event has been held in New York in all the years since but the 2015 event was up for grabs due to a scheduling conflict.
The new location is sure to be a hit with fans as the Midwest is easily accessible by more fan bases than New York. There will be something for everyone with a scheduled fan festival for each of the draft’s three days in beautiful downtown Chicago.
Chicago won the bid over Los Angeles mostly due to ability to host fan events. It will be interesting to see if this becomes an annual location change like the Super Bowl. In the meantime, keep watching your favorite college football players with anticipation of seeing them at the next draft.
