NEW YORK, N.Y. – Move over Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller, there is a new villain and scourge destined to haunt Gotham and destroy the playoff dreams of the New York Knicks in Atlanta Hawks guard, Trae Young.

It takes a special kind of individual to go back-and-forth with New Yorkers, let alone die-hard and vocal fans of their beloved Knickerbockers. Thanks to dropping 36 points in the Hawks’ series-clinching Game 5 103-89 win at the hallowed mecca of hoops, Madison Square Garden, Young shut down The Garden in style.

His bow at midcourt proved to be the perfect trolling first act of Gotham’s newest nemesis.

Sorry, Joker. But you’ve been replaced by a young gun with more swag and less powdered-on makeup!

For the series, Young scored 30-plus points in becoming the third visiting player to ever score 30-plus points at MSG joining his Airness. It’s one thing to be spit on, screamed obscenities at and utterly be booed ever time you touch the ball, but in vanquishing arguably the NBA’s most storied franchise in the World’s Most Famous Arena, Young can now add his name alongside longtime New York sports rogue’s gallery next to Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens, Dale Hunter, John Rocker, P.J. Brown, MJ, Reggie and Tom Brady.

Spike Lee, get used to seeing No.11 break New York’s heart, as Sub-Zero is here to stay.

Armed with plenty of drip to go along with an ability to drain a 40-foot bomb from halfcourt at will, much like his trademark shiver, Ice Trae is going to be putting the deep freeze and sending chills down the spine of New York and suffering Knicks fans for years to come.
