Could we be on the cusp of seeing a recently released WWE superstar make a return to the action?
Several online sites are reporting that WWE has reached out to Wade Barrett and asked him if he’d be interested in returning to the WWE. If he does choose to return to WWE, he would more than likely join the Smackdown Live brand. I feel it would fit perfectly as they have a lack of credible main event stars.
He left the company shortly after WrestleMania 32 after he went on record by saying how he felt about his lack of being pushed into the main event picture. The last thing he did was he was in the stable known as the League of Nations. This stable included Rusev, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio. It should be worth noting that two out of four of those wrestlers are no longer with the company as Del Rio is also let go from the company. However, it doesn’t seem likely that we will see Del Rio back in the WWE for the foreseeable future.
Wade Barrett came into WWE when he won season one of the NXT. He came onto the main roster in the stable known as Nexus that many people have said that if they were booked correctly, could have been one of the best factions in WWE history. The original stable of Nexus consisted of Daniel Bryan, Darren Young, former WWE superstar Ryback, Heath Slater, and others.
If Wade Barrett does decide to come back to WWE, I could see this being a much better run for him then the first time. I could see this because Smackdown Live has a slight main event picture that consists of AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, John Cena, and Dolph Ziggler. Plus John Cena is currently not on TV as he is getting ready to film America Grit for Fox. So Wade could easily be put right in the main event picture.
Again, this is just a rumor, and it may not happen.
