It’s Labor Day on a Monday night, and most of us are enjoying BBQ and what our next drink is. Here I am attempting to give you folks the predictions of the NFL Season. In addition to the NFL Season Predictions win loss seasons I’m going to give you the predictions with a TWIST. Let’s get cooking!
AFC East: Buffalo – Biggest Storyline: Von Miller: Will he bring that defense to Arizona? From spicy hot wings to the desert heat in Arizona. It has a nice Ring to it!
AFC South: Indianapolis – Biggest storyline, the revival of Matt Ryan. Ryan has always been a better than average QB, a majority of his career has been with defensive-minded head coaches such as Mike Smith and Dan Quinn. Now he goes to Frank Reich, this could be fun.
AFC West: Los Angeles Chargers – Biggest story line. Ordering a Big Mack with plenty of Jackson’s. So, a Big Mac isn’t worth $20 or an Andrew Jackson, however the additions of Khalil Mack and JC Jackson are costing the Chargers a ton of Benjamin’s. Will those moves be worth it? We’ll find out as Herbert begins year three with high expectations
AFC North: Cincinnati Bengals – Biggest Storyline, once upon a line. The defending AFC champion Bengals and their offensive line was the biggest need in the offseason. Signing Alex Cappa and Ted Karras was a top priority for them as Joey B wants their Super Bowl rings. Maybe he just needs the protection so he can win his own.
Wildcard: Las Vegas Raiders – Biggest Storyline. Carr and Adams reunion. Fresno State has many memories of this bromance. Once Adams got to Green Bay the Bromance seemed like it didn’t exist. This isn’t the first time the Raiders went all in on a WR, Randy Moss anybody?
Baltimore: Biggest Storyline – Did Lamar play himself out of a contract without Hollywood? Hollywood Brown goes to Arizona, more on that later. Lamar Jackson is playing out his rookie contract without an extension as of Labor Day Night. Things could get less than charming in Charm City.
Kansas City: Biggest Storyline – Can Patrick’s new Mahomies replace the graduating class? Tyreek Hill, DeMarcus Robinson, and Byron Pringle have moved on. Now he has receivers with multiple last names. Smith-Shuster, Valdez Scantling, and rookie Skye Moore better do something if Kansas City wants to make a second trip to Phoenix in February.
Sleeper Team: Miami Dolphins
Overrated Team: Denver Broncos
NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles – Biggest Storyline: Does Jalen Hurts evolve in Year 3? Philadelphia has a Top 5 roster in the league however the biggest question remains at QB. AJ Brown does help, and Devonta Smith has elite talent. The main question now is will head coach Nick Sirianni open the playbook up for Hurts to explode in year 3? If that answer is not, these birds will be roasted before Thanksgiving.
NFC South: New Orleans Saints – Biggest Storyline: Is Dennis Allen ready to be a Head Coach again? Sean Payton left out of nowhere and the Saints were in a hurry to find their next coach. Luckily, they had someone inside the organization who feels like he’s ready to take the next steps. Now is Jameis fully recovered to lead the Saints past the Brady-led Bucs?
NFC West: Los Angeles Rams – Biggest Storyline: How bad is Stafford’s throwing shoulder? Matthew Stafford had limited reps due to concerns in his throwing shoulder. When your starting QB talks to his best friend and fellow city icon in Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw, you know it’s serious. If they have McVay and Donald they will be just fine.
NFC North: Minnesota Vikings – Biggest Storyline: Was the end of the Mike Zimmer era that bad? The new additions of Kwesi Aldofo Mensah and Kevin O’Connell bring a new atmosphere to the organization. Everything starts with belief in the new culture. The Vikings definitely have that new culture, and the players are believing in it.
However, everything here starts with Kirk Cousins.
Wildcard: Green Bay Packers – Biggest Storyline: Did Aaron Rodgers take too much money? $50 million is a nice chunk of change, however David Bakhtiari is coming back from injury which should keep Rodgers more upright to at least honor that 3-year contract at $50 million a year. One thing for certain is that I’m taking David in a beer drinking contest.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Biggest Storyline: How much genuine Interest does Brady have this upcoming season? He first started the offseason by retiring only to unretire. I guess he wants that record from Brett Favre too. This Brady set up can be similar to the 2008 New York Jets or the 2009 Minnesota Vikings where both times Favre gave it one more go. The Jets just missed the playoffs, and the 2009 Minnesota Vikings made it to the NFC Championship game.
We’ll see.
Arizona Cardinals – Biggest Storyline: Murray and Brown reunite in Arizona? Once college teammates at Oklahoma, Hollywood Brown and Kyler Murray were a dominating force. Now they have that same chance to do it again in the Arizona desert.
Will they be a third host city to host the Super Bowl in three years? We’ll see.
One thing for certain is that you will see many birds in Phoenix during Super Bowl week, whether it’s at the Waste Management in Scottsdale or the Cardinal fans who live in the community.
