Friday, May 31, 2024, MIAMI, FL. – Australian photographer and designer Rebecca Collinson-Smith opened PARAISO Miami Swim Week on Thursday, May 30, 2024, debuting two brands Hunting Hue and Draw on Swimwear.
The show opened with Draw On Swimwear, a sustainable collection of swimwear and accessories for children designed to let them unleash their inner artist and express themselves through color and design. Young models in their own creations walked the runway carrying the Draw On Swimwear Cephalopod character logo balloons. Draw On Swimwear has styles ranging from one-piece and rash guards to swim shorts and accessories for both boys and girls.
Next, the lights went dark, and an action-movie-inspired video of designer Rebecca Collinson-Smith in a helicopter shooting high above Sydney’s landmarks played before the models came down the runway in her photo-meet-fashion designs from Hunting Hue’s Debut collection, “Icons Of Sydney, Australia,” Inspired by Sydney’s iconic landmarks and vibrant culture, Collinson-Smith captures the essence of the city in their swim and resort wear prints. From the sun-kissed shores of Bondi Beach to the architectural marvel of the Sydney Opera House, each piece reflects the city’s dynamic spirit, showcasing captivating artistry and exquisite craftsmanship.
Hunting Hue sent models down the runway in their latest eight-drop collection: Icebergs, Bridge, Opera, Bondi, Bronte, Sails, Wild Ocean and Sand – all available for pre-sale now. The collections feature a range of swimwear styles, including bikinis, strapless and one-piece swimsuits, cut-out designs, and sleeved options, the collection prioritizes versatility and comfort for women, men, and children. Both collections were complemented by silks and wearable pictures used as headscarves, tops, sarongs, and neckties, adding a sophisticated touch to the overall presentation.
Established in 2019, Hunting Hue offers wearable art and travel mementos crafted in Australia with a focus on sustainability. The brand proudly utilizes fabric made from recycled plastic bottles, emphasizing slow, elegant fashion and prioritizing quality craftsmanship over mass manufacturing.
The brand’s name, “Hue,” signifies color and is an homage to Rebecca’s father, an antique collector whose love and passion for preserving memories inspired her journey. Celebrating family, Hunting Hue’s range of styles spans from children to adults, allowing the entire family to bond, match, and share sophisticated style.
Rebecca Collinson-Smith, Designer & Founder of Hunting Hue, expresses excitement about the collection’s debut. “I’ve always been captivated by Sydney’s vibrant energy and unique beauty. From its iconic landmarks to its lively culture, the city has constantly inspired me. With the ‘Icons Of Sydney, Australia’ collection, I wanted to pay homage to the breathtaking essence of this city, capturing its spirit in wearable art that celebrates its landmarks and its people. Each piece in the collection is a testament to the rich tapestry of Sydney’s identity, inviting wearers to carry a piece of its magic with them wherever they go.”
