SAO PAOLO, BRAZIL – The Green Bay Packers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles down in Sao Paolo, Brazil, 31-26, with Green bay Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love getting injured in the process.

Last night was the first-ever NFL game in Brazil, and a future bastion of growing the ever-popular game of American football at Corinthians Arena, where the Green Bay Packers took on the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to media reports, Love suffered a sprained MCL, and needed assistance getting off the field. Recently acquired backup quarterback Malik Willis filled in for the final drive, but ultimately failed to lead the Packers to victory.

If Love is out for a significant amount of time—which is likely to be one to two months, if it’s a grade one–the Packers might have to contact a free-agent quarterback such as Joe Flacco or Ryan Tannehill; however, there is concern with both as they are on the wrong side of 30 with Flacco turning 40 in January.

All in all, Love’s injury could derail the Packers’ promise of a playoff appearance. It also opens the gates for the Chicago Bears to climb to second in the NFC North and likely widen the gap for the favorite Detroit Lions to win the division.
