According to NFL.com’s Chris Wesseling, the Oakland Raiders and ex-Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson have mutual interest in one another.
Jackson, who caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns, could be on his way back to the Bay Area as a member of the Silver and Black. Jackson, 27, a Los Angeles-area native and a former star player at Cal-Berkeley, grew up a Raiders fan and would be the crown jewel in an impressive free haul that has landed Justin Tuck, LaMarr Woodley, James Jones, Maurice Jones-Drew and Matt Schaub. In adding Jackson, Oakland would have both the vertical threat and speed that it sorely lacked last year and give Schaub a bonafide set of targets in both Jackson and Jones to throw too.
Per Ian Rappaport, also of NFL.com, the Chiefs are one of the front-runners for Jackson due to Andy Reid’s past with him in Philadelphia along with the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, with the Washington redskins and Buffalo Bills emerging as potential suitors for the electrifying Jackson.
