The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, were held to just one run in San Antonio’s 4-1 victory Saturday night. Missions starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi tossed eight innings, allowing just the one run. Frisco managed just six total hits in the ballgame, unable to find any action against Lucchesi.

Top prospect Ariel Jurado fell short of a quality start for the RoughRiders. He went seven innings, allowing six hits and four runs (all earned). Jurado walked one, struck out one, and gave up one home run. Clayton Cook entered the game in relief and tossed one inning of no-hit and no-run baseball. He struck out three along the way. Ryne Slack finished the matchup on the hill for Frisco. He tossed one inning, walking one and punching out none. He allowed no hits and no runs.

The bats were quiet for the RoughRiders. The club’s lone run was scored by infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa. He was able to cross the plate on a throwing error. Kiner-Falefa would finish the match up 1-4. Andy Ibanez went 2-4, and Michael De Leon ended his night 1-3 with a double. Five of the nine RoughRiders batters got hits. The club went 1-4 with runners in scoring position, leaving four men on base.

  • With two more hits Saturday, Andy Ibanez is 8-21 (.381) in his past six games. Ibanez has collected four multi-hit outings in his past eight games.
  • After tossing two scoreless innings Saturday, the Riders bullpen has posted seven consecutive scoreless innings, collecting 10 strikeouts while allowing just two walks.
  • Ariel Jurado fired seven innings for the first time since May 31, snapping a streak of eight consecutive outings with fewer than seven frames.

The RoughRiders will play their final matchup of this four-game set against San Antonio, Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, on Sunday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. Tyler Davis (1-1, 2.67) will take the hill for the RoughRiders. He’ll take on Chris Huffman (4-3, 2.91) of the Missions.
