The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, lose game two of a three-game set to Midland Tuesday night, 7-2. The RockHounds were able to capitalize on early run support to win the game and take the series. Frisco now stands at 44-58 on the season.
The RockHounds made quick work of RoughRiders starting pitcher Pedro Payano. He was taken for seven hits and seven runs (five earned) over five innings. Payano walked one and struck out two in his matchup. The RoughRiders bullpen went scoreless for the remainder of the matchup. Brady Feigl tossed two innings of one-hit ball. Nick Gardewine closed out the matchup for Frisco. Over one inning, he struck out two and walked none, allowing no hits and no runs.
Luke Tendler produced an RBI groundout and Andy Ibanez scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, cutting the deficit to 5-2. Tendler would finish the match up 0-3, drawing a walk, and getting one RBI. Michael O’Neill went 3-4. Isiah Kiner-Falefa finished 2-4. Eric Aguilera went 2-3. It wasn’t a strong day for the RoughRiders bats. The club left seven men on base, hitting 0-4 with runners in scoring position.

The third and final game of the set between Frisco and Midland will take place Wednesday night. The matchup is set to begin at 6:30 PM from Security Bank Ballpark in Midland, Texas. The RoughRiders will start top prospect Yohander Mendez (7-6, 3.55 ERA). He’ll face Casey Meisner (1-3, 7.59 ERA) for Midland.
