Philly Philly!
Perhaps one of the gutsiest—and now famous plays—in Super Bowl history, it was the play that changed the complexion of Super Bowl LII.
With 38 seconds remaining in the first half and the Eagles on the one-yard line, first-year head coach Doug Peterson called for the “Philly Special” which was a direct snap to running back Corey Clement and a pitch to tight end Trey Burton who would then throw a pass to quarterback Nick Foles, who would be left wide open in the end zone to put the Eagles up 22-12.
The rest is—as they say—was history.
While the Eagles were unable to defend their title this season, and are now sitting at home watching Super Bowl LIII between the team they defeated in the New England Patriots and the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles can rest on the fact that they bested the best quarterback of this generation and will forever be etched into the annals of football lore because of The Philly Special.
Philadelphia has produced a storied set of underdog champions and people who come out of nowhere to make it big. Look no further than the fictional Rocky Balboa, standup comic Kevin Hart and Academy Award-nominated actor and director Bradley Cooper.
Thanks to her recent top-three finish in Maxim 100 as one of their Hometown Hotties as well as appearing in other men’s lifestyle magazines such as L’Officiel, Nuvu, Kasha, Space Arsenal, Playboy Australia, Maxim Italia and soon-to-be cover girl for Playboy Sweden and Playboy South Africa, Philadelphia-area native and Paris-based glamour and lingerie model, Amanda Lauren may be the next underdog to rise from the City of Brotherly Love.
A thirty-something blond-haired stunner with a set of curves that’ll make men weep, the Cherry Hill, New Jersey cutie could easily be a doppelganger of Margot Robbie. Curves, sassiness and a unapologetic sexiness to boot, Amanda adds to why there is just something about Philly women.
A die-hard Eagles fan, like all from southern New Jersey, Amanda may have been jet-setting in exotic fashion capitals such as Paris and London, but you may be able to take the girl out of Philly, but not the Philly out of the girl!
Below is my Q and A with Amanda as we talk Eagles, Maxim and being at JFK when the Iggles beat Brady.

Happy New Year! How did you spend it, and what did you do? I was in Paris very low key at a house party. Typically on new year eve, no matter what city I’m in I prefer to ring in the new year intimately and at home.
Any New Year’s resolutions? I have about 10… maybe a bit more. Travel more, prepare for entrance to an MBA program in London, improve my French and to spend more time with friends and family are just a few.
Congrats on being one of the finalists for Maxim’s Hot 100, how has your life changed? Thank you! It’s definitely an honor and an accomplishment. It seems there are a lot more hands in the pot in regards to photographers who want to shoot you and people who want to meet you and work with you in general. A lot of other doors open. It will be interesting to see how it all unravels and what will manifest consequently.
What does “Glamour Girl” mean to you, and how excited are you about being interviewed by us? “Glamour Girl” implies a woman who has heightened features, apparel, accessories, looks, or lifestyle. Glamour is sort of l like beauty in the sense that it is in the eye of the beholder. Generally speaking, glamour implies one who stands out in a positive or flashy way and one people admire or wish to emulate. I’m flattered!
What has changed since being in Maxim? Not much has changed other than more doors opening up and a higher platform. I truly believe it’s how you decide to use this platform and if one seizes that small window of opportunity to make more come from it. That is what I’ve been doing. Work, work, work!
Any big plans or projects in the works for 2019? Right now, I’m just settling out of 2018–best year of my life! Will see what 2019 has in store. I’ll be attending the Hair O’ The Dog Event in Philadelphia this mint my home city, and really looking forward to seeing friends- old and new.
Who inspired you to get into modeling? I kept getting asked to do photo shoots by so many people, so I guess people’s belief in me. Ever since I was a young girl, it is what inspired me to that at some level, this is a part of my calling–but by no means does it define me
What is your secret to looking so gorgeous? Thank you so much, wow! How generous of you! I drink a lot of water. I work out 5-7 times a week running, weight lifting, cardio, and sometimes, Pilates or Yoga. I have a very good skin care regimen that I picked up while I was an aesthetic nurse at a med spa in Los Angeles (I am a registered nurse or RN). I eat only fish, greens, and very rarely, some nuts or fat free dairy products. I do drink coffee and tea and I do drink a few nights a week, but I’m always mindful to drink a dry champagne and avoid mixers or sugary drinks. I have never smoked cigarettes and don’t do drugs. Scientists would say its genetic, too. Take care of your self and your body will follow suit!
Thoughts on the rise of glamour modeling on Instagram? It’s interesting. It certainly cuts out the middle man regarding the agency model which seems to be dying a slow death. I like that women have a platform and the public decides, not an agency, who is well liked and who we should see more of. With that said, there is a lot of negativity that derives from this as well. Not everything is what it appears on social media, a lot of women only shoot from certain angles or apply a lot of filters, etc. However, I really think women should do what makes them feel the most beautiful. It really isn’t the fault of anyone that certain images and looks get the most likes. Society and the public determines that. Power to all the glamour models!
What’s it like being an American in Paris? Interesting. I enjoy being a foreigner in another country, you are considered exotic or different. At the same time, even though I speak French fairly well, the language can sometimes be a barrier if you’re trying to have deep conversations with others.
What are the differences between modeling in the States and over in Europe? Really no difference, but all of the scenery is much more beautiful in Europe in terms of cities. There is more of a difference in terms of cities- some are more high fashion and others more glamour.
Thoughts on the current #MeToo movement and how it’s effecting models, modeling and feminism. I have a different approach to this. While I thoroughly recognize men in powerful positions abusing their power and I also see that as part of the culture in Hollywood (ie- casting couch), this is not exclusive to Hollywood. It happens everywhere.
However, the power of sex and beauty is also a woman’s advantage. I do not condone men abusing their power, but I also can not stand by women who took positions in the Hollywood circle under these pretenses and now are standing up for it 20 years later.
I know that isn’t all of them… but I do think that the way in which they have gone about this has turned into- whether advertently or inadvertently, a “burn them at the stake” mentality and caused men to fear women. We also are defaming people based off of hearsay, without a proper trial and ruining lives and careers.
The way of the world right now has me scratching my head in the United States. I’m happy to be overseas.
What fashion and fitness tips and trends do you have for looking good and staying in shape when the temperature drops? Do we have enough time for this? LOL I just started at 23 days of Fit-Mas beginning 12/1-12/23. I started it to inspire others in between Thanksgiving and Christmas to be mindful of the foods we eat during this time, provided guidelines of what to eat (mostly lean fishes/meats and green), and encouraged everyone to do at least 30 minutes of cardio daily. The challenge is to lose 5 pounds. No one has to yet to come forward that they accepted the challenge. When the weather is cold, wear layers and get yourself to a gym! If you prefer team sports, there is always ice hockey, skiing, or ice skating.
What is THE one hot fashion item that you must have/or get this season? There isn’t just one! Pearls are very in right now as is sequins. I haven’t scouted out any new designer releases just yet, I’ve been too busy with work and school.
With holiday’s coming up, any suggestions to the men out there on what to buy their ladies? That all depends on the stage of the relationship. I think most women like to know they matter, so whatever the gift is, it should have meaning and should be in a budget range that shows her you “sprang” a bit for her based on your own budget.
Pumpkin spice, Salted Caramel or Peppermint Mocha? Black americano or doppio espresso ! Save your calories for a piece of cake!
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, what advice would you give to men hoping to spice things up in the bedroom? Take charge but always ask if something is okay even if it’s your woman. Respect goes a long way and increases trust…this intimacy is what spices up the bedroom….the sex follows
Sexiest piece of lingerie you own—or would recommend for a man to get his woman for V-Day? Oh wow, you want me to choose?? Definitely agent provocateur it’s a purple silk two-piece trouser with an underboob top that is long sleeved. It also has black lace and all you see is torso and underboob. Sometimes less is more–and it feels amazing!
Lingerie, thong or frenchies? what you’re preference? Lingerie all the way! (That should be an ad campaign). It’s classy, sexy, and seductive.
What would you say is you best feature? I would say either my lips, eyes, or legs.
What makes you feel sexy? Living in my skin. I’m built for sex even when I try not to be.
What exudes sexiness? Confidence. Mystery. Showing some but not all. Unattainability.
What attracts you most to a man? Integrity. Perseverance. Stable income. Hard work ethic. Assets. Money in the bank. Puts me first.
Athleisure? Fashion or fitness fad? I had to look this up. I think it’s definitely a fad but will inadvertently live on. People like to be comfortable, but don’t want to feel guilty about it. If you work out as much as I do, you wind up in work out attire at least half of the time anyway.
What is your workout and fitness secret to staying in shape? Depending on the time I have in the day, I like to do 45 minutes of cardio and weight train 3-4 days a week. Sometimes 5 depending on how sore I feel. If I have day I eat more than usual, I try to get to the gym in the morning and the evening the following day.
What part of the body do people tend to overlook when trying to work out? For most people, aesthetic muscles that don’t naturally pop out without doing specific exercises. Body builders and fitness models are in tune to these things.
Describe your daily workout routine? See the above. I like to switch it up between running outside and running at the gym. I also switch up between bicycle, treadmill, and elliptical.
What’s on your workout playlist music wise? I love everything! I have modern radio music, electronic music, some rap/hip-hop mostly older stuff, and some French songs I’ve gotten into.
Fave music? I love anything that sounds beautiful or has a nice beat to it.
Within the industry, who is your modeling inspiration? I hope to inspire others through my art. I have a creative mind so I like to create unique images or do things outside of the box. I hope to be recognized internationally or in other countries versus only in the United States.
Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies? I love to socialize. Try new restaurants, go out for drinks. I like watching movies, sight seeing, traveling, shopping, spending time with loved ones and my dog when I’m in the states. Reading and school work take up a lot of my time. I mostly use my brain to conjure up more ideas of things I want to do. The list is endless!
Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs Philadelphia teams all the way! I can’t turn my back on my home city. I will always be an Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies fan even if they are doing terribly!
Being from Philly, gotta ask you this: where were you when the ‘Birds won the Super Bowl? Believe it or not I was at JFK airport getting ready to fly back to Paris. They announced that the eagles won the super bowl just before the plane was taking off. I went crazy as did many others. I should have been at the maxim Super Bowl party and attending the Super Bowl but I had to get back to Paris.
What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? Love yourself. Believe in yourself. Just do it. Fear nothing.
