The team at Take Two had exciting news about the release of Grand Theft Auto V as it recently announced that the game generated around $800 million in sales during the first 24 hours after its release. The team has also announced that the amount is just about the highest first-day retail sales of any game title and that includes all the other GTA games.
The team has eventually then noted that the $800 million does not include sales from Brazil or Japan as the game has not yet been released in those countries.
Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said that everyone in the Take Two Team is overjoyed at the first response to the newly-released game. He also gives credit to the team at Rockstar Games saying that it has outdone them once more. He commends such team for once again setting new standards for creativity, innovation, and excellence in the entertainment industry.
At midnight last Monday, eager customers all over the world were already lined up and waiting for the game to be released.
In the gaming world, being one of the first to play a new game is always a massive deal.
In North America, a whopping 8,300 stores opened their doors at the stroke of midnight and welcomed fans. New York Times writers had even said these fans’ enthusiasm and loyalty were rewarded by a game that would give what it says is “the most immersive spectacle in interactive entertainment. Two Strokes have also gone on record saying they are incredibly proud with the work Rockstar Games has done and are more than pleased with the launch.
GTA V was released for XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 last Tuesday and Grand Theft Auto Online which is its multiplayer component to go live in October.
