My Offensive spotlight player for the Jacksonville Jaguars is going to be Blake Bortles. This is year 4 of 4 for Bortles on his rookie contract. So far, to this point, Blake has not lived fully up to the hype and could be in a position to be with a different team next season. I personally believe Blake is going to have the best season of his career and in return, The Jaguars will offer him a great deal making him a Jaguar for the long term.
With the addition of Fournette to the backfield, Bortles will finally get a running game, which will allow him to spread the ball out. His offense now will no longer be one-dimensional and will allow him the opportunity to keep defenses guessing.
With Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson, Bortles most likely has the most talented WR duo in the league. Last season was a down year for Hurns as he only had 35 catches for 477 Yards and 3 TDs. Additionally, Robinson had a down season as well with 73 catches for 883 yards and 6 TDs. Blake Bortles will need them both to get back to their 2015 season form. Robinson had 80 catches for 1400 yards and 14 TDs and Hurns had 64 catches for 1031 Yards and 10 TDs.
If Hurns and Robinson can return to 2015 and Fournette rush for 1,000 yards the Jacksonville Jaguars will be poised to make noise in the AFC South. Fournette would be the first Jaguar since Maurice Jones-Drew to run for 1,000 yards. This could be the start of the Jacksonville Jaguars young nucleus running the division for years to come.
All things considered, this is a put up or shut up season for Blake Bortles. The fans are tired of waiting to see if he is the future. I believe he is the future and will bring a championship to Jacksonville or wherever the Jaguars end up.
