MIAMI GARDENS, FL – After suffering this fourth concussion since his freshman year at Alabama, and growing calls for him to retire, here are the top three quarterbacks the Miami Dolphins should target in replacing Tua Tagovailoa

1.) Ryan Tannehill, QB, free agent: in a twist of irony, this may be the Dolphins best and most obvious choice, in bringing back they quarterback they traded away. Tannehill has been a starter in the NFL for two teams in both Miami and Tennessee—before being usurped by Will Levis.

The question is how soon would it take for him to pick up Mike McDaniel’s playbook and keep the Dolphins dwindling playoff hopes alive sans Tua?

2.) Jimmy Garappolo, QB, Los Angeles Rams: Another veteran—and Super Bowl champion—QB that makes sense for Miami is Jimmy G. Familiarity with McDaniel from his stint out in San Francisco, Garappolo has a chance to possibly reunited with his former OC down in South Beach.

3.) Mac Jones, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Another former starter, currently backing up Trevor Lawrence up the road in Duval, Jones could be a low-key quality pickup for Miami. Having played with current WR2 Jaylen Waddle at Alabama, there is already a built-in chemsitry with one of the Dolphins’ top playmakers. That and playing in a much more QB-friendly system with elite talent could bering out the best in Jones.
