Exodus: Gods and Kings is an epic retelling of the story of Moses and the courageous uprising he lead against the Egyptian Pharaoh, Ramses.
Once the two men were raised as brothers – not by blood, but by bond. Moses was a general of Egypt’s armies and Ramses a prince who would become Egypt’s Pharaoh.
Upon learning the troubling truth of Moses’ true lineage, Ramses banishes the man he not only considered a brother, but who also saved his life during battle.
After years in exile and living as a shepherd, Moses is ultimately tasked, by way of divine intervention, with the task of delivering 600,000 slaves to freedom.
Aided by the wrath of God, Moses will attempt a mass exodus of the Hebrew slaves from the clutches of the Pharaoh Ramses and the forces he will command to thwart the effort.
Ridley Scott directed this ambitious and effects driven retelling of this epic Biblical story, based on a script penned by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, Jeffrey Caine, and Steven Zaillian.
Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton lead a cast that includes John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Ben Mendelsohn, Sigourney Weaver, and Ben Kingsley.
Will Exodus:Gods and Kings be seen as “divine” by audiences, or will audiences find it to be an epic wast of time and money when it comes to theaters Dec. 12th.
