Saturday night is the annual Snoopy Bowl between the New York Giants and New York Jets. It became known as the Snoopy Bowl because, in 2011, the insurance company Metlife bought the naming rights to the Meadowlands for $1.6 billion and wanted to have fun with the annual preseason game. Also, it should be noted, Metlife Stadium is only one of two sports buildings to hold more than one team. The other one is the Staples Center in Los Angeles that is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers of the NBA.

The Giants lead the series 8-5.Although it is just a preseason game, the Snoopy Bowl is something different. In the scheme of the preseason, the 3rd preseason is the most important preseason game because teams will play their starters for a good chunk of the game. This is also typically when you see the starters for the last time before the regular season.

I am someone who lives in the New York area, and I don’t understand the madness of it all. I know you want to have fun and whoever wins gets bragging rights, but it’s still a preseason game.

My prediction and preview of this game are I see the Giants grabbing the win. I’m saying it for one major reason timing. Eli Manning has been there for the entire training camp and has built a rhythm with his receivers. On the other side, it has still been a short few weeks since Ryan Fitzpatrick resigned with the Jets and I feel he may still need to work on timing.

All I’m going to say is it will be a great game to watch because the stands look like it’s a regular-season game. I’ll have a recap of the game to be ready to go by Sunday morning.

Prediction: Giants 24 Jets 17
