The New York Islanders have struggled coming out of the gate for the 2016-2017 season. They currently sit in 8th place in the Metropolitan Division with a record of 5-8-4. There has been pressure from several members of the fan base to make a change with the head coach, John Capuano. However, General Manager Garth Snow gave the coach a vote of confidence.

New York is starting its West Coast swing as they start off in Anaheim as they play the 9-7 Ducks. Currently, the Anaheim Ducks have the third-best record in the West and sit currently two points behind the Blues and seven behind the Blackhawks. On the other hand, the Islanders hold the worst record in the East and are currently sixteen points behind the Canadians.
Let us first look at the Ducks. They are entering this game with a record of 9-7-3 and sit at the top of the Pacific Division. However, they are entering this game coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Kings by the score of 3-2. On paper, the Ducks will be looking at this game that they have against the Islanders as an easy win for them. This is because the Ducks have the Blackhawks, Sharks, and Canadians coming up to wrap up the month of November.
One reason for why the Ducks are coming out of the gate very strong is overall due to the fact of the production they are getting from several players. One player who is helping are center Ryan Kesler, who in only nineteen games has scored eight goals and is one of several players to have over ten points so far. If I am the Islanders, I would try and make Kesler be a non-factor for the Ducks, and that may give you a shot to win this game.
On the other side, you have the New York Islanders. They are entering this game with a record of 5-8-4 and have the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately, the month of November has been brutal for the Islanders as they have gone 1-7 with two losses coming in Overtime to Pittsburgh & Florida and two coming in the shootout rounds to Philadelphia and Edmonton. Over the years of being a sports fan, I have always been a proponent that you need help from everyone.
It seems that the Islanders are relying a lot on John Tavares and Brock Nelson who are tied with most goals with each of them having five. If the Islanders continue to go downhill and fall deeper and deeper in the Eastern Conference, the likelihood of a change at the head coaching position becomes higher. If you would like the information of where you can listen and watch the game online, here it is:
