Well football fans, I have some good news and I have some bad news. The good news is, we have two tremendous games of NFL action this Sunday. The bad news however, there are only three games remaining in the NFL season. The second of those two games that will be played this weekend will see the Pittsburgh Steelers, winners of the AFC North, traveling to Foxborough to take on the AFC’s top seed, and winners of the East, the New England Patriots.
This game is sure to see plenty of action and scoring, as both teams feature prominent offensive weapons. The New England Patriots will be led by Tom Brady of course, who will look to once again bring his team to the Super Bowl. After a bye week, the Patriots had their hands full in the first half against the Houston Texans before pulling away in the second half. The Patriots left the Texans in the game at halftime thanks to self-imposed mistakes, which head coach Bill Belichick will certainly emphasize this week. I would expect to see a much more crisp team this week, as there is no more room for error. The team’s greatest weakness seems to be its ability to stop the rush, which also had an impact early on in the game. But luckily for New England, the Steelers are a much more offensively minded team.

For Pittsburgh, last week was a bit of a surprise, as they relied on six field goals to take down the Kansas City Chiefs. Granted the Chiefs have a very impressive defense, but to stop Ben Roethlisberger. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown from finding the end zone for four quarters is extremely impressive. Look for those three to come out looking hungry, as they push to drive the ball in for six points. Their defense is going to need to step up as well, as the Patriots offense is a lot stronger than the group in Kansas City.
I am expecting a back and forth affair between the clubs, ultimately leading to the points going over the listed 51. When it comes down to it, the Patriots will hold the edge on defense, meaning they will make the needed stop at the end of the game, unlike the Steelers’ unit. Give me the Patriots and the over, as the Pats move on to take on the NFC Champs two weeks later.
This game will be played at 6:40 EST on CBS, this Sunday, January 22nd, 2017.
Line: NE -6, O/U: 51
Prediction: Patriots 28- Steelers 24, Steelers and the over
