While the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus is coming to an end in the next couple of weeks, it seems that there will be one circus that will continuing. The circus that is continuing is the one located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and the ring leader is Donald Trump. It seems that he did something else yesterday that is causing shock waves to spread through Washington.
It was reported through several media outlets that Trump ended firing FBI Director James Comey in a surpise move. Mr. Comey was leading the investigation into what Putin and the Russians did during the 2016 election. There have been accusations that they somehow assisted Trump in beating Clinton to become President. Donald Trump has been in office now for a 110 days and it has been nothing but a circus.
He seen people within his own staff be forced to resign and it seems that many of the mainstays have had some sort of issue. There have been plenty of comparisons of Donald Trump to Richard Nixon. It has gotten to the point that there have been a plethora of articles saying that what Trump is doing now in office is almost echoing what Nixon did with Watergate in the early 1970s.
It was reported from CNN that there is two possible reasons for James Comey being shown the door. According to their sources, Comey never showed any loyalty to Trump and that the ties between Trump and Russia were beginging to move quicker than expected. I find both of these to be very interesting for several reasons.
However, the biggest thing that I find interested with the first reason is that Comey was an Obama person. It is similar to when an NFL team brings in a new head coach. Typically, the head coach will not keep the original quarterback because it is not his guy. The other reason for why Comey was fired should send red flags up quickly. If it is true that the investagation into the ties with Russia and Trump were moving quickly, then I think Trump is covering something.
Since Comey is out of the limelight of Washington, I would not be surpised to see him do an interview down the road where he becomes the whistle blower.
