The Bullet Club has reign supreme over New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor since 2013. They were formed when Prince Devitt (Finn Balor of the WWE) turned on his tag team partner and formed a heel stable with Karl Anderson, Bad Luck Fale, and Tamoa Tonga. Since then, we have seen the likes of AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, Frankie Kazarian all have runs in the stable.
However, it seems that the Bullet Club is turning into what the NWO was in WCW and the WWE. I am aware that they come off as being a combination of DX and NWO.However, it seems they are really turning into the present day NWO. When the NWO began, it was in 1996 at Bash at the Beach when Hulk Hogan turned heel and joined Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
If you then recall with the NWO, they started to pretty much run rough shot over the WCW. In the heyday of the NWO, we saw Ted DiBiase, Eric Bischoff, Randy Savage, The Great Muta and others. Towards the end of the NWO run while they were in WCW, it seemed that everyone was a member of the NWO.
How I see this with the Bullet Club is it seems that we are seeing a new member join every few months. Prior to Supercard of Honor, Frankie Kazarian turned on Christopher Daniels to join the Bullet Club. Frankie Kazarian’s run in the Bullet Club was very short and had an abrupt end very similar to when Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt Family.
We also saw the villain Marty Scurll recently join the Bullet Club when Adam Cole was fired. Once that happened, there have been rumors floating around that he is more than likely heading out of Ring of Honor. It means he is probably heading towards the WWE and NXT. We also saw the likes of Cody Rhodes join the Bullet Club. While I don’t see the Bullet Club falling apart soon, I just see a lot more similarities between the Bullet Club and the NWO.
