What’s in a name? Sometimes it’s something simple, or symbolic or may even have some special meaning. Regardless, it is what defines us.

In the modeling world, it can define you, your personal brand or even how others see you. While unique, a name is still a name. While not uncommon, there seems to be anew trend of models being named after various months of the year.

Notable models and actresses such as X-Men and Mad Men star January Jones, MAXIM model April Rose and Sports Illustrated alum Julie—for the month of July—Henderson and the notion of drop-dead gorgeous models being named after months isn’t as quirky or far-fetched as it sounds.

Not known for having anyone famous named after it, but the month of September may have it’s own soon in the stunningly-gorgeous, dark-haired Southern siren in September Garland.

Born in the posh West Coast enclave of Palm Springs, the 28-year-old inked glamour and fashion model has made a name for herself in her adoptive home state of Tennessee. A die-hard Vols fan, the married mother of three is also a commissioned portrait artist.

Blessed with a dark emo-goth look of edgy sexiness and elegance, September is truly beautiful regardless of season.

Robert D. Cobb: Happy New Years! What are your resolutions for 2017?

September Garland: “My resolution is simple, to make this year brighter and more fulfilling than the last! Make every day count!”

Robert D. Cobb: I’ve heard January, April, May, June, July(Julie) for girls names, how did the name September come about?

September Garland: “That’s a funny story, my parents were actually told that I was going to be a boy, but to everyone’s surprise I came out a girl! So because they hadn’t picked out a girls name, they decided to name me after the month I was born. Thus making me a “September Storm””

Robert D. Cobb: Did you get a lot of grief growing up?

September Garland: “Some days more than others. High school was rough, but I think everyone has a hard time at some point.”

Robert D. Cobb: Worst pick-up line heard because of it?

September Garland: “I don’t think there is ever a GOOD pick up line lol but I really can’t think of one bad enough to remember! LOL”

What kind of model do you consider yourself? (Instagram, pin-up/glamour, fashion)

September Garland: “I consider myself more of a glamour/fashion model”

Robert D. Cobb: What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most?

Robert D. Cobb: Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies?

Robert D. Cobb: Sports question, Who are your favorite teams and clubs.

September Garland: “I have to support my Tennessee Vols!! But I rarely sit down and watch sports.”

Robert D. Cobb: What are your favorite cities to travel to?

September Garland: “I love New York, but I have only been there once. Any cities with huge beautiful buildings usually call my name.”

Robert D. Cobb: Do you have any new modeling projects and shoots lined up?

September Garland: “I have a lot of upcoming shoots with some amazing photographers in the surrounding cities and I’m looking forward to every one of them. I think I’m most excited about the upcoming shoot out in February because there is going to be so many talented people there!”

Robert D. Cobb: What is the worst stereotype of models, and have you suffered backlash for it?

September Garland: “The worst stereotype to me would probably be models who partake in tasteful nudes. They have to worst reputation in other people’s eyes, and more people really need to understand it’s ART and see it as a form of expression. I personally have never suffered backlash from it because I haven’t been involved in a tasteful nude shoot, but I respect those that do.”

Robert D. Cobb: What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling?

September Garland: “Don’t let the negative feedback deter you from reaching your goals. Don’t let anything hold you back and ESPECIALLY don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. This is a mean ugly world, so you have the opportunity to create your own shine. Own it.”
