Miami, FLA – Laces BC officially became the first team to clinch a playoff spot in Season 2. The Laces led by their “Big Three,” Jackie Young, Alyssa Thomas, and Brittney Sykes. The Laces have been the most consistent team in the league this season.
After their victory over the Lunar Owls last night (February 6), the Laces BC has extended its lead. Laces are at the top of the standings. Having already clinched a playoff berth, their focus now is securing the #1 overall seed before the regular season ends on February 27.
There is a “Mid-Season” break in the schedule next week. That is because the league shifts to the 1-on-1 Tournament from February 11-14.
Laces stars like Jackie Young and Alyssa Thomas will likely be the heavy favorites in this individual bracket. The tournament winner receives a $250,000 prize, entirely separate from the 3v3 team championship.
While the Laces have secured their “ticket,” the battle for the remaining spots is heating up. The Unrivaled playoffs begin on February 28, just one day after the regular season concludes.
The top two seeds earn a significant advantage. The Laces game against Phantom BC (currently #2) and the Breeze BC (currently #4) will be massive for deciding who gets the extra rest.
