Uncasville, CT (May 13, 2025) – There was a press released today about the expansion of NBC Connecticut.
The Connecticut Sun announced the that NBC Connecticut (WVIT), will be broadcasting more of the Suns game.
NBC Connecticut is the sister station of NBC Sports Boston, and he will get the expansion off the ground.
According to Connecticut Sun Organization, NBC Connecticut will be airing a weekly news segment called Women Take Center Court.
The news segment will be spotlighting the latest with the Connecticut Suns stories – from behind-the-scenes team content and in-depth coverage featuring the highlights of the games.
Will also be covering the surrounding community.
“Women’s basketball has always been a benchmark of the sports landscape in Connecticut, and the Suns are a big part of that,” said Hank Guerrero,
President and General Manager of NBC Connecticut/WVIT and Telemundo Connecticut/WRDM.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the sun to serve fans across the state and tap into the excitement that the WNBA and Sun will bring to court for the 2025 season.”
Connecticut Suns President, Jen Rizzotti told the press that one of the main goals of the Connecticut Suns organization is to make their product on and off the court as visible and accessible for the fans.
The organization is hoping the network will keep growing for years to come.
NBC Connecticut will be simulcasting four Connecticut Sun games throughout the 2025 season. The four games are against Phoenix Mercury on June 18 at 7:00 PM EST, the Minnesota Lynx on June 29 at 7:00 PM EST, the Chicago Sky on August 13 at 7:00 PM EST and the Washington Mystics on August 21 at 7:00 PM EST.
The Connecticut Sun tips off the 2025 WNBA Regular Season at home on May 18 against the Washington Mystics at 1:00 PM EST at Mohegan Sun Arena.
