Two NFC East teams with three wins will be going head to head in week six. The Philadelphia Eagles will fly to the Nation’s Capital to take on the Washington Redskins. The Eagles are coming off  their first loss of the season, as they lost to the Lions in Detroit the week ago. Meanwhile, the Redskins won their third straight of the season, winning a game on the road in Baltimore a week ago.

The Eagles started the season off as hot as anyone in football. They won their first three games of the season, and then went on a bye in week four. So it has been a few weeks since the Eagles have actually gotten a win. Carson Wentz started the season off extremely well, but did show a few rookie cracks a week ago on the road. Wentz and the team need to focus, as they have a big time divisional game this week. Their defense has overall been strong, but did struggle against the high powered offense of the Lions.

Luckily for the defense, the Redskins offense is not that strong. Kirk Cousins is an inconsistent quarterback, and is prone to interceptions. Running back Matt Jones has been declining a bit with each passing week, and the running game may be in need of a shakeup soon. Jordan Reed is the teams’ best offensive weapon, is dealing with a concussion and his status for the game is no given at this point in time.

When all of the pieces are put together, this is a very important game for Philly. If they win this one, they help cement themselves as the real deal this season. A second straight loss means the doubters will begin to come out of the woodworks. The Redskins are coming off three straight wins, so a loss would not come as big of a blow. A divisional game is always important, but given I am a believer in the Eagles, I am buying in here.
