American Sniper has been the talk of the Hollywood world lately. The film pulled in over $90 million at the box office during its first week of release, and has drawn praise from moviegoers and critics alike.

However, given the movie’s immense success the naysayers will come full circle, and one just happens to be Seth Rogen. Recently, Rogen criticized the film and compared it to another Hollywood movie, Inglorious Basterds. Rogen stated on his twitter,

“American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that’s showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds.”

That film he was referring to was a Nazi Party propaganda film used to glorify the German nation, and while his comments might have seemed out of line, Rogen later clarified his remarks on his twitter account.

“I just said something “kinda reminded”  me of something else. I actually liked American Sniper. It just reminded me of the Tarantino scene.”

” I wasn’t comparing the two. Big difference between comparing and reminding. Apples remind me of oranges. Can’t compare them, though.”

Despite Rogen’s attempt to debunk his comments, many are still up in arms on the topic, including  a few country music superstars, Craig Morgan and Blake Shelton.

“Seth Rogen you don’t know nor did you know Chris Kyle (who was a great American), “ Morgan wrote on facebook. ”

“I would be interested to know if you have a relationship with any American who served honorably in its military.”

Blake Shelton continued the onslaught on Rogen’s character by tweeting out the following.

“Sickens me to see celebrities or anybody slam the very people who protect their right to talk s—-..#truecowards.”

Rogen has certainly not made many friends during this ordeal, but he rightfully deserves the criticism.
