The single-music video “Distancia” is a collaboration between U.S. producer Marcus “Bellringer” Bell and Spanish singer Cristina Malakhai. The track mixes R&B, Latin pop, hip-hop, flamenco, and electronic music into something that feels fresh and real. Sung in both Spanish and English, Distancia tells the story of love, distance, and the push-pull of human connection.

What makes this project stand out isn’t just the music, it’s also the music video. Inspired by the surreal painting The Lovers by René Magritte, the video adds a visual layer to the feeling of being close to someone but still emotionally apart. That powerful message has earned Distancia more than a dozen awards and nominations at film festivals in Los Angeles, Latin America, and Europe, including wins at the Independent Short Awards, IndieX Film Fest, and the Portoviejo Film Festival in Ecuador.

Cristina Malakhai brings heart and soul to the performance. Originally from Barcelona, she’s been performing across Europe and the U.S. for years and is a member of the Latin Grammy Academy. She’s not just a singer, she also produces music, hosts radio shows, and recently performed at the Brisk Festival Awards in Los Angeles and during Latin Grammy Week in Seville. Her vocals on Distancia carry a quiet intensity, balancing vulnerability with strength.

Marcus “Bellringer” Bell is no stranger to the music industry either. He’s worked with stars like Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and Timbaland, and his music has been featured on shows for Netflix, HBO, and Amazon. Bell brings a smooth, professional polish to the track, while still allowing its emotional core to shine through. He’s also behind Ravyn Lyte, a digital artist created with AI, and runs a music company that manages over 30,000 tracks.

Together, Bell and Malakhai created a song that’s personal and relatable. Distancia doesn’t try to fit into a box, it reflects the reality of modern relationships, where love can be intense, complicated, and sometimes painful.

The video’s success at festivals like the Venice Film Awards, Hollywood First-Time Filmmaker Showcase, and Buenos Aires International Film Festival shows just how far its message has traveled. It’s not just a song, it’s a story told through sound and image, and it’s connecting with people across cultures and languages.

Distancia proves that when artists from different backgrounds come together with honesty and vision, the result can be something that truly touches the audience.
