Chapped lips can be quite the pain, especially when the weather drops and the air becomes drier. However, you don’t have to live with chapped, dry or cracked lips. Instead, follow these tips to beat chapped lips for good.

Hydrate From The Inside

When trying to fight chapped lips, a lot of us focus on moisturizing and hydrating from the outside. However, don’t discount the importance of hydrating from the inside as well. If you drink plenty of water, you’ll notice that your lips will start to feel a lot softer and less chapped.

Buff Away Dead Skin

While moisturizing is all well and good, exfoliating can be incredibly useful in banishing dry or chapped lips. You don’t have to run out and purchase a pricy lip scrub. Instead, use a clean and dry toothbrush. Or, if you’d prefer a scrub, just mix honey and raw sugar to create an inexpensive DIY lip scrub.

Use The Right Lip Balm

Have you ever noticed how some lip balms seem to make your lips drier or cause you to have to reapply the product every hour? This is because many lip balms contain menthol and harsh ingredients that create a soothing feeling but do nothing to actually moisturize. Try switching to a lip balm that will actually soften and moisturize your lips, such as EOS. EOS contains nothing but moisturizing ingredients and is free of chemicals that can cause irritation. Plus, EOS lip balms smell delicious and come in an adorable egg-shaped package.

If you add these steps to your beauty routine, you can banish dry and flaky lips once and for all. Avoid chewing or picking at your lips when they feel dry. Instead, pamper your pout and treat it with care if you want your lips to feel supple, hydrated and healthy.
