The San Francisco 49ers were dominating utilizing the run game early against the Seattle Seahawks. Using Jeff Wilson Jr, Ty Davis-Price, Deebo Samuel and a bit of quarterback Trey Lance.
After week one the one complaint regarding Lance in the loss to the Bears was that he took too many big hits. In fact Justin Fields also mentioned talking to him about how to avoid. Unfortunately he took another one against the Seahawks and ended up getting carted off the field with his leg placed in an aircast.
It appears the second year quarterback’s season is likely over. Which means that Jimmy Garoppolo is now the starting quarterback for the 49ers.
Still for 49ers fans, frustration has started with head coach Kyle Shanahan. Which is obviously justifiable as the playcall itself came at a questionable time. The Seahawks were not caught off guard by the designed run by Lance, which resulted in the big hit he took.
Kyle Shanahan ran Trey Lance who has a cannon like a battering ram until he breaks his leg and then brings in Jimmy Garoppolo in with no practice reps and starts going deep and running the air raid offense. Ridiculous. #49ers

Trey Lance has been hit or tackled four times already. The fourth — a designed run — results in him getting injured. Jimmy Garoppolo is in the game.
