To borrow from the popular Betty White sitcom, everything in Cleveland appears to be hot. Hours after being announced as the host of the 2021 NFL Draft, could the Cleveland Browns land former Pro Bowl DT Gerald McCoy?
McCoy, recently cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being selected third overall out of Oklahoma in the 2010 NFL Draft, The 6’4, 300-pound McCoy is a six-time Pro Bowler and named first time NFL All-Pro three times.
Having already signed DT Sheldon Richardson and having DE’s Olivier Vernon and Myles Garrett on the edges, McCoy would likely rotate in with current starter Larry Ogunjobi and the fore mentioned Richardson.
If McCoy does land in Cleveland, a legitimate argument could be made of the Browns having a top-five defense, of not one of the most menacing in all of football.
