CLEVELAND- The Browns signed unrestricted free agent and former Miami Dolphin Brian Hartline to a two-year, $6 million deal Monday.

Cleveland is seeking to upgrade the depth chart at wide receiver after the season-long suspension of star Josh Gordon. The Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins were also attempted to sign Hartline as 92.3 The Fan’s Dustin Fox broke the news.

Hartline posted back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in 2012 and 2013 before gaining under 500 yards last season. At 6’2, Hartline is tall and provides much-needed physicality for the Browns as they will go up against the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks as well as their AFC North opponents that finished with winning records and playoff berths.

The Browns prioritized signing receivers to give newly-acquired quarterback Josh McCown top targets to throw to, and with the addition of Hartline, they are off to a good start
