It would appear that Christian Bale, who had been in early talks to portray Steve Jobs in Sony’s biopic of the Apple founder, is now leaving the project.

According to Variety, Bale had met with the films director, Danny Boyle, but negotiations were still only in the very early stages.

Aaron Sorkin, who penned the screenplay, seems to have made a rather major faux pas by stating in an earlier article for Variety that Bale as a lock to act in this role.  Leonardo DiCaprio had also passed on the role, and this new development now has the producers on the hunt yet again for somebody to fill the role.

Seth Rogen recently signed on to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, but one would have to wonder if this new development will have any bearing on whether he stays on the project.  Jessica Chastain is also rumored to be associated with the project, but hopefully in the future no more rumors will be prematurely represented as fact.
