It seems that Viola Davis is popping up just about everywhere in Hollywood. Already receiving high acclaim for her role in “How To Get Away With Murder”, the actress might be able to add another achievement to her resume.

The Wrap is reporting Davis is reportedly close to signing on to play Amanda Waller in David Ayers’ Suicide Squad. Davis will join a star-studded cast for the film which includes Will Smith, who plays Deadshot in the film.

It was Smith, who according to a source at The Wrap, “personally lobbied for Warner Bros to do whatever it takes to cast Davis.”

The one thing of note is that not only will Davis be committing to Suicide Squad, but also multiple pictures set in the DC Cinematic Universe, as the contract is a multi-picture deal. The deal is expected to be done in the coming weeks, as negotiations between the two have been “tricky” according to a source, with Davis’s schedule for Murder being the main catalyst in the delay.

The Suicide Squad is set to open August 5th 2016, and will feature Will Smith (Deadshot), Tom Hardy (Rick Flag), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Cara Delevinge (Enchantress) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).
