ATLANTA, GA — After a disappointing home loss to Northern Illinois, the Yellow Jackets are back at home against the Kennesaw State Owls. The game should provide a much-needed confidence boost for the defense, who looked disoriented coming out of the gate last week.

The Yellow Jackets open as 19.5-point favorites to win the game, and reasonably so.

Kennesaw State runs an offense that some of the Georgia Tech players should be use to: the triple option. This makes Kennesaw State a team that could potentially knock off a larger opponent through the season, but a 35-25 victory against Reinhardt isn’t enough to convince me that they could beat the Yellow Jackets.

There was much to be disappointed by last Saturday as a Georgia Tech fan, but the offense racked up 429 total yards last week. The running game should still be effective for the Yellow Jackets and the passing game should be enough to get them by the Owls.

After injuring his elbow midway through the second quarter last week, Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims will take the field as the starting quarterback for the Yellow Jackets.

Look for Sims and most of the other starters to sit for a good portion of the game to not risk losing some of the star power that they have, for when the play Clemson next Saturday.

Prediction:

The Owls simply do not have enough offensive star power to keep up with the Yellow Jackets, but look for it to be a low scoring game due to the number of rushes from both teams.

Final Score: Georgia Tech 31, Kennesaw State 10
