For the most part there’s plenty of people who have at least one pair of pants that are sitting in the closet due to being too long. Instead of getting rid or hiding them for a later time. Here’s an easy way to hem the pants without having to make a single cut.
Supplies Needed:
- Ruler
- Pants
- Straight pins
- Sewing Machine
- Pants
Step 1:
Flatten and straighten out hem. You may even iron the pant leg down to get a crisp edge.
Step 2:
Use the ruler to make sure the front and back are even.
Step 3:
Pin the original hem down.
Step 4:
Using the sewing machine, sew along the hem line.
Step 5:
Turn the hem under. Sew 2″ up the seam. This keeps the hem from rolling down.
Step 6:
Repeat steps 1-5 for the second pant leg.
This type of hem is designed so that you can let it out if you choose to wear it with heels, boots, or for your growing kids. Enjoy!
