Truly one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of our generation, Rachel McAdams has landed a couple of proverbial knockouts in both ‘Southpaw’ and ‘True Detective’.
The 36-year-old native of London, Ontario, Canada burst onto the Hollywood landscape thanks to her now-iconic roles of Regina George in the cult classic, ‘Mean Girls’ in 2004 and the Nick Cassavetes-directed period romance drama, ‘The Notebook’ as Allison Hamilton helped punch her ticket to Hollywood’s A-list.
Other roles in movies such as Wedding Crashers, Red Eye, The Lucky Ones, State of Play, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Sherlock Holmes and its sequel, A Game of Shadows, The Vow and About Time would see her net many accolades.
In what has already been a busy 2015 for McAdams, as she has appeared in Every Thing Will Be Fine, The Little Prince and Aloha, will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Antoine Fuqua-directed boxing drama ‘Southpaw’(which will be released July 24) and in the Thomas McCarthy-directed drama, ‘Spotlight’ that focuses on the Boston Globe’s ‘Spotlight’ team, and their investigative unit on their coverage of the Massachusetts Catholic 2002 sex abuse scandal opposite Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci and Liev Schreiber.
Currently playing the role of Ani Bezzerides in the second season of HBO’s ‘True Detective’, she is a member of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, with a series of internal demons, is part of a three-officer team along with Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch, investigating the disappearance and murder of city manager, Ben Caspere, causing a potential multi-million high-speed rail to potentially fall apart in the fictional industrial city of Vinci.
Truly one of the best actresses, whether she is playing a spoiled and snobby mean girl, or a dirty cop, McAdams is truly a woman that we want.
