Los Angeles Dodgers right field sensation Yasiel Puig appears to have injured his leg while making a great catch against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night.
During the fifth inning, Puig ranged back onto the warning track in right field and jumped to make the play. On landing he smashed into the fence and eventually slowly made it to his feet. He attempted to jog it off, yet it was apparent that the injury was bugging him.
Still Puig managed to have his at-bat in the sixth a sacrifice fly scoring Skip Schumaker before being removed from the game for precautionary reasons. Most recent reports indicate that he’s day-to-day with a bruised left hip and thigh x-rays were also taken and were negative. If he had suffered a serious injury forcing him to the disabled list it would have been a major blow for the Dodgers who are just 2.5 games back in the National League West.
