Tomas Videla, born and raised in Buenos Aires, is the Argentinean composer that is creating a big impact with his nomination to one of the most prestigious music awards in the word, the Hollywood Music In Media Awards.

Videla, based in Los Angeles, created an outstanding tango that caught the attention of the industry and got him nominated for Best Instrumental at the 2022 award ceremony that will be celebrated in Los Angeles on Nov 16th. Midnight Tango is the name of this exceptional composition. The piece was recorded at the Newman Scoring Stage at Fox Studios in Los Angeles, conducted by Videla, and featuring Jose Luis Pedrazzini on the bandoneon.

Tomas creates highly elaborate orchestral music often mixed with hybrid and electronic elements, and he has a large experience working in famous TV shows and films in Hollywood such as Mattel’s He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, streaming on Netflix, Disney’s LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales, Netflix’s A Tale Dark And Grimm, HBO’s documentary Tiger. He is also an experienced orchestrator and skilled conductor.

Tomas Videla loved music since he was a child. He was about three years old when he first picked up a guitar and started strumming his first chords.

The talented composer attended the Universidad Catolica Argentina (UCA) where he got his bachelor’s degree in Music Composition, graduating top of the class. Tomas later got accepted to Columbia College Chicago where he did his masters in Music Composition for the Screen under the direction of composer Kubilay Üner. While in LA, he completed the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive. This education along with his talent and hard work positioned him as one of the most successful Argentinean composers.
