Thursday NASCAR issued a HUGE L1 Penalty for Sunday’s winner of the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Speedway . Team Penske’s No. 22 driven by Joey Logano was found to have a parts issue once the winning car was torn down for R & D Inspection. This L1 penalty will disqualify Logano’s win for the playoffs later in the season. The penalty also comes with a $50,000 fine and two-race suspension for crew chief Todd Gordon, and the loss of 25 driver points and 25 owner points, NASCAR announced. Team Penske has yet to announce its decision for an appeal.
