CLEVELAND – After months of talk and speculation, the worst kept secret became official, Kevin Love is now a Cleveland Cavalier.

First reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein on Friday, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers agreed in principle to a three-team trade sending Love to Cleveland, the last two overall picks in the draft in Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett to Minnesota and their first-round protected pick to the Sixers.

Philadelphia would receive swingman/shooting guard Alexey Shved and forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute from Minnesota, who in turn receives small forward Thaddeus Young.

While all three teams receive quality pieces, the clear winner are the Cavaliers, who now emerge as the favorite to win the East, and a real shot at winning Cleveland’s first sports title since 1964.

In adding Love, who averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds, to a lineup that features LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, Cleveland is now the new Beast of the East.

Pending league approval, the deal could not be ratified until Saturday. Now with Love in Cleveland, the Cavaliers are now the team to beat.
