There is an AFC East battle going on this week during week 12 of the NFL season. The New England Patriots will be on the road taking on one of their biggest rivals, the New York Jets. The Patriots, a legitimate Super Bowl contender, are coming off a 30-17 victory in San Francisco last week. Meanwhile, the Jets, one of the worst teams in the NFL, lost two weeks ago against the lowly Los Angeles Rams, followed by a bye last week.

The Patriots have a powerhouse team like they do most seasons. Tom Brady took part in Friday’s practice, and he appears set to play through a minor knee issue. Rob Gronkowski, on the other hand, is still no lock to play, but there is certainly the possibility. With or without Gronk, look for Brady to use his abundance of weapons to pick apart the Jets secondary. This should be the Tom Brady show, assuming he plays, as Tom Terrific should have no issues scoring points here. This is simply a mismatch of talents, and I am expecting it to be all Pats.

The Jets simply have no movement on offense, and one of the worst passing defenses around. So there is no reason for me to think they will be in contention here. Sure it is a divisional game, and they could linger a bit, but at the end of the day, the talent disparity is too great for them to overcome. They need to stay within eight points, which is a hefty spread for New England. But at the end of the day, I see them covering with ease, as the Jets offense will gain no traction against the Patriots defense in this one.
