  • 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Nearly Traded To Browns : According to multiple media reports, the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers nearly pulled off a draft-day trade that would have sent head coach Jim Harbaugh to the shores of Lake Erie for draft picks.  Both teams would confirm the report as true.   After firing Rob Chudzinski, Cleveland and San Francisco began discussions that would have sent multiple first-round picks to San Francisco.  Harbaugh would eventually decline and opt to stay with the 49ers.  The younger brother of John Harbaugh, head coach of the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens, the Toledo-born Harbaugh would have returned to the state of his birth, had the trade actually been consummated.
  • Canada Men’s Hockey Team Edges USA, 1-0 :  24 hours after the American women would see a two-goal advantage slip away vs. Canada, the Canadian men’s team would need only one goal and some stifling defense to snuff out the high-octane Americans in the Olympic semifinals. Thanks to a second-period goal from Dallas Stars forward Jaime Benn  and solid play from net minder Carey Price, the defending gold-medal champions will face Sweden Sunday in a 1998 gold-medal rematch won by Sweden in Nagano.

With the loss, the United States will face Finland in the bronze medal game on Saturday.

  • Wayne Rooney Inks $501K-Weekly, £85 Contract Extension Through 2018-19 : One of the top players in the world, Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney signed a new contract extension reportedly worth £85 that will pay the former Everton product a wage of $501,000 a week. Rooney, 28, has scored nine goals, nine assists in 21 games and 68 shots for the Red Devils.
