CLEVELAND —  If this is the start to the so-called “silly season” of rumors and speculation, then the Cleveland Browns and Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly have started things of with a bang.

According to @incarceratedbob on Twitter, the Browns and Kelly have reached an agreement in principle.  Per sources, the deal is 95% done, with the final details and language needing to be worked out.

Kelly, who is viewed as the “it” coaching commodity among NFL circles, and is regarded the Browns top choice, per Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer due to his wide-open and high-octane offense in Eugene, is currently in preparations to lead his Oregon Ducks into their Fiesta Bowl matchup against the Kansas State Wildcats on Thursday evening.

The final holdup appears to be whether or not Kelly will have full say over the roster and personnel decisions, but as of now, it appears that the Browns may have found their new head coach, one day after firing Pat Shurmur.

More details will follow on this developing story, as nothing has been confirmed or made official yet.
