22nd Pick: Miami Dolphins- Haason Reddick (LB) – Temple
One of the biggest risers from the Senior Bowl and one of the most versatile players in the draft, Haason Reddick is a unique prospect on defense. In Temple, he was used as a pass rusher but many can see him playing off the ball linebacker in a 4-3 or even inside linebacker. Reddick would be a great fit for the Dolphins as they need linebacker talent and is a big weakness on their defense. Reddick can be the rangy linebacker that can cover or pass rush in certain situations in 2016, he had 65 totals tackles and 9.5 sacks. He can be used in many ways schematically and his athleticism is displayed on the field with his explosive play as a defensive disruptor.
23rd Pick: New York Giants- Garett Bolles (OT) – Utah
Ereck Flowers has not panned out well at left tackle and an offensive tackle to let Flowers move to right tackle would improve two positions at once. Garett Bolles out of Utah is an older prospect who is currently 24 years old. I do not think a prospect should be not selected because of age. Bolles should physical run blocking as a finisher and good athleticism/ footwork to be a left tackle in the NFL. While he is just learning the position, he does have to refine his technique and get stronger for NFL caliber pass rushers at the next level. If he develops those traits, he could be a pass protector the Giants need on the offensive line.
24th Pick: Oakland Raiders- Teez Tabor (CB) – Florida
Now referred to as “Teez” Tabor instead of Jalen, Teez Tabor out of Florida was once considered the top cornerback in college football. Now with better upside prospects and off field issues related to violence and violating team rules, Tabor falls in a good spot. The Raiders need an upgrade at cornerback as David Amerson and Sean Smith were both inconsistent in coverage. Tabor playing in the slot at first will give talent to the corner position and later on should be a full-time starter on the outside with Smith getting older. Tabor had his best season in 2015 with 4 interceptions and 14 pass deflections. He can be too aggressive at times and might not be a willing tackler with his smaller frame but his demeanor and aggression will fit right in with the Raiders and is good in coverage and ball skills overall.
25th Pick: Houston Texans- DeShone Kizer (QB) – Notre Dame
The Brock Osweiler experiment so far has been a failure as he was massively overpaid and underperformed drastically. With the Texans defense, they need a quarterback that they can develop. They need a guy who can come in and start once Osweiler is cut or at least compete in year one. I think Kizer has boom or bust potential like many of these quarterbacks in this draft. Some think he has off field issues due to his demeanor but I think he was on a bad team and got benched because of that. He has good physical traits and ideal height and shows potential with his arm strength and mobility. But people mostly knock him for accuracy as he had under 60% completion percentage and a low touchdown to pick ratio for a starting quarterback. I think if he can develop, he can show that he has the tools and has what it takes to be a winner.
26th Pick: Seattle Seahawks- Ryan Ramczyk (OT) – Wisconsin
The number one priority for the Seahawks should be protecting Russell Wilson as they did not do that well at all in 2016. Germain Ifedi had a rough year at right tackle so he will most likely go to guard. Garrett Gilliam and George Fant were not good and were inexperienced at tackle. The interior on the offensive line is not bad so the exterior of the line at tackle should be addressed here. Ryan Ramczyk out of Wisconsin falls here after a hip injury he is facing currently. Regardless, a great pass blocker and for some, the best offensive lineman in the class falls here and he should be the pick to help protect Wilson on the outside. He would play left tackle as he has shown the athleticism and footwork to justify the position and is a no brainer pick if he were available to the Seahawks.
