SANTA CLARA – Thanks to two interceptions by Richard Sherman, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks (8-4) knocked off the archrival San Francisco 49ers (7-5), 19-6.

GOOD – Placekicker Steven Hauschka kicked four field goals (27, 36, 35, 40), while the Seattle defense held San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to 121 yards passing. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson passed for 236 yards, one touchdown and managed to elude the Niners pass rush all night in rushing for 35 yards on seven carries. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 104 yards on 20 carries.

BAD – The fore-mentioned Kaepernick threw two interceptions and was held to 121 yards passing on 16-of-29 attempts. The backfield combination of Frank Gore and rookie Carlos Hyde rushed for a total of 47 yards, (28 for Gore and 19 for Hyde)

UGLY – Perennial Sherman foil, San Francisco 49ers wideout Michael Crabtree, was held to three catches for 10 yards in his first matchup with the 2015 Madden cover boy and out-spoken defensive back since last year’s NFC Championship Game.
