Thanks to a breakout performance as Naomi Lapaglia in Martin Scorsese’s new film, “The Wolf of Wall Street” opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, 23-year-old Australian actress Margot Robbie (Pan Am, Neighbours, In Time) is The Inscriber : Digital Magazine’s inaugural “On The Rise” series.
Based on early returns, Robbie looks to have a busy 2014 ahead, as she is slated to appear opposite Will Smith (I Am Legend, After Earth) in the romantic comedy film Focus, directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and the World War II romance film, Suite Francaise along with Michelle Williams, Kristen Scott Thomas and Ruth Wilson. She is also in pre-production for Violent Talent scheduled to start shooting in early 2014 and stars Ray Liotta.
In 2012, Robbie was featured in Inside Film Magazine rising talent issue, which showcased 25 young Australian actors including Jai Courtney, Alex Russell, Adelaine Clemens and David Ludlow. As for Robbie’s role in The Wolf of Wall Street, it seems that she made the right decision to take the part as it is now being considered a “career changer” for her. There’s also some who believe that Robbie will could garner an Oscar “Best Supporting Actress” nomination for her standout performance.
Robbie will more than likely be up against Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong’o and Scarlett Johannson.
