Baltimore, Maryland. Charm City.
One of America’s most important and vital cities, Baltimore has a unique place in both American and pop culture.
Home to noted authors such as Edgar Allan Poe, Francis Scott Key, creator of the “Star Spangled Banner” and Tom Clancy, Baltimore lives up to it’s moniker of being a charmed city. A tough, gritty and brick-styled port city, Baltimore is famous for its world-class Inner harbor and crab cakes.
On the silver screen and in sports, Baltimore is as prominent as they come, in being the setting for acclaimed shows such as HBO’s crime drama, “The Wire”, Netflix’s “House of Cards” and Hollywood political thrillers such as Enemy of the State starring Will Smith, Gene Hackman and Jon Voight and The Sum Of All Fears starring Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman.
Baltimore is also the birthplace of some of sports’ most iconic players such as Babe Ruth and Olympic champions such as the most decorated Olympian of all-time in 23-time gold medalist (28 overall) in swimmer Michael Phelps and three-time USA basketball gold medalist and NBA scoring champion Carmelo Anthony.
One can look no further than Camden Yards or M&T Bank Stadium to see championship-level teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. Even in the world of modeling and entertainment, Baltimore can lay claim to A-listers such as Jada Pinkett Smith and model and actress Stacy Keibler.
