CHICAGO — According to Paul Sullivan of The Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Cubs have dealt Matt Garza to the Texas Rangers for four prospects.
Garza, 29, was 6-1 with the Cubs, with 62 strikeouts and a 3.17 ERA.
The 6’4, 215-pound right-hander out of Fresno State would be dealt to the Rangers for third baseman Mike Olt, right-handed pitchers C.J. Edwards, Justin Grimm and a player to be named later.
The deal is contingent upon all players involved passing their physicals. Garza was scratched from his start Monday evening against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
