Atlanta Falcons will to try to beat Miami Dolphins in Week 3 without their starting running back, Steven Jackson.

Jackson suffered a thigh injury in Falcons’ 31-24 win over St. Louis Rams. Mike Smith, Falcons’ coach said that he will miss Week 3 and will probably be out next weeks as well. Atlanta has Week 6 bye and if he misses next three weeks, he will have one more week for resting and preparing. Falcons will play against the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets before that Week 6 bye.

Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling will have to step up for Atlanta while Jackson is out. Snelling ran for 19 yards and a touchdown while he carried the ball just two times. He will probably start against Miami because Rodgers really struggled, ran just 17 yards and it took him 11 carries to reach that yard number.
